Build Your Internet Presence by Submitting Articles

You've built a great website, added in all the " legal" search engine optimization techniques properly, had it indexed by the major search engines, and continue to promote it to the best of your ability. Months later, it is still sitting idly there - almost as if it didn't even exist while receiving about 20 visitors a day, and zero income. Meanwhile you're paying your monthly web hosting fees, Internet connection fees, and becoming discouraged. Your hard work and perseverance doesn't seem to be bringing your web site into even the top ten pages of Google search results, even with your carefully planned and strategically placed keywords.

By itself, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques aren't enough anymore to obtain high rankings. Why? Because the search engines are evolving at such an incredible speed, that even those at the top of SEO performance are finding it more and more difficult to keep up with the changes. It's absolutely critical to avoid the latest "craze" for ranking high in the search engines. Things such as keyword stuffing, blog spamming, and so forth, are things that, while they worked at one time, are definitely not going to sustain you. Your web site will either get banned, or you simply won't get ranked anywhere meaningful.

There ARE effective ways to increase your search engine ranking that will always bring positive results. Not only will they increase your search engine ranking, but also build your credibility, which, in turn will generate quality leads to your business, and most importantly, get your name and business in front of lots of people around the world.

So, what's missing?

1. Presence

If a person doesn't know that Yellowstone National Park exists they will not visit the park on purpose. Sure, a few may stumble across it in their travels,but the few who do will be few and far between, based on the "chance" they happen to find it situated somewhere in the huge open spaces out west. A few visitors here and there definitely won't be spending enough money to keep the park operating properly.

The same is true for your web site, blog, sales page, product, or message board. One of the best ways to establish "presence" (and higher page ranking with Google) is by having links (free advertisements, so to speak) pointing to your web site from top-rated and high-ranking sources already online. One-way links are the most effective for establishing presence, period.

2. Trust

When a person first hears about Yellowstone Park, he will want to know what it can offer that any other park doesn't already offer. Why should he go there? Is the place well-cared for by an educated staff that knows what they are doing? Is it even worth visiting, and will it really deliver on the claims made about how wonderful it is?

A person needs to trust that he will find exactly what is being promised to him before he chooses to visit your web site, blog, or message board. Additionally, a person will need to trust that they will be satisfied with a product or service offered before they will consider it for themselves.

Establishing trust and presence for your web site can be accomplished in a few simple steps, and can quickly build a higher page ranking, along with repeat and increased visits. None of these is a "new" concept, but are absolutely essential to long-term performance.

A. Include a short, factual "About Me" page with your name and photo. I had personally conducted an experiment with omitting my real identity and photo for months, and then placed both items on my website. The results were amazing! After two months of having my photo, name, and brief bio added, my income quickly doubled. It has continued to nearly double each consecutive month since.

B. Honestly and briefly state exactly how visitors will benefit from your product, service, or web site. First impressions are formed in mere seconds. Promote only those things you actually believe in for yourself, give honest testimonials, and strive to offer a unique approach in marketing them. Your ultimate goal may be income for yourself, but if not presented in such a way as to show you genuinely "care" whether or not your site, product, or service actually benefits those you are targeting, trust (in you) and your sincerity to assist your visitors will never be formed.

C. Be continually mindful of how you are representing yourself online, especially among message boards, forums, or groups you visit for your own pleasure, for networking, or for entertainment. When you give a pat on the back, advice, or an opinion, strive to give it in a meaningful way that will neither degrade anyone else, nor appear as though you are spamming to get visits to your web site or affiliates. Be prepared to back your position with facts or personal experiences.

D. Write informative articles with your reader's goals in mind, and give them away. Be sure your articles address a real problem or need, offer sound advice and support, and include a resource box leading to your web site or blog. Write your own material without "copying" or emulating everyone else's articles. Give permission (in your resource box area) for your article to be duplicated without prior permission as long as the article, links included, and resource/credits are not altered. Submit your quality articles to any of several hundred free article submission resources online. Each time your article appears elsewhere on the Internet, a "one-way link" is created pointing to your web site, thus building a higher page-ranking, and increased traffic.
