New Book Claims to Reveal "God" Phenomenon
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) August 25, 2007 -- For years, supporters of Creationism, and more recently Intelligent Design, have tried to establish God as a scientific possibility. Nevertheless, the scientific community has consistently dismissed any evidence they have provided with state courts blocking the teaching of Creationism and Intelligent Design in public schools.
With the vast majority of the nation and the world believing in a Supreme Being, this stance may seem confusing. However, the aim of science is to draw repeated, definite conclusions independent of personal beliefs and unproven explanations. Anytime a theory requires someone to accept information without the benefit of observation, then that theory, regardless of its sophistication, falls into the realm of pseudoscience.
Since all scientific theories begin with an observation, before someone establishes the theory of a universe by design, some phenomenon or act of intelligence must be observed which can only be performed from outside our universe. In other words, if God is responsible for the universe's creation, then He must be able to exist and act outside of its boundaries.
The "God" Phenomenon A new book titled The Book of Masahel (Ma-sah-el meaning in Hebrew "test of God") claims to reveal such a phenomenon - that information regarding the actions of several world empires was sent and received in the form of prophecy hundreds of years before the empires even existed. According to the observed laws of our universe, sending people or information backward in time is impossible; however, the book claims that it has occurred nonetheless.
Some physicists have hypothesized the existence of wormholes, tachyons, and other forms of exotic matter that would permit backward time travel. However, because no one has actually observed such phenomena, these hypotheses must remain in the realm of science fiction. Even if scientists were able to build a time machine, no one could travel to a time before the machine's creation.
Nevertheless, The Book of Masahel claims that men 2,600 years in our past received information regarding our present and future. If the book is correct, either our understanding of the universe is completely wrong or the action was performed by "someone" unbound by its laws.
Prophetic Formulae The Book of Masahel takes advantage of two mathematical formulas contained within the Bible used to interpret prophecy. The prophecies of Ezekiel, Daniel, and the Book of Revelation, each count years in increments called "days" and "times". The first formula, found at Ezekiel 4:4-6, states that one prophetic "day" equals one actual year. The second, found at Revelation 12:6,14, states that 3 ½ "times" equals 1,260 prophetic "days". By combining these two formulas and using simple division (1,260 divided by 3 ½), one derives one "time" equaling 360 actual years.
By using these two formulas, readers are guided from one historical event to another. More importantly, simple mathematics guides the reader to the next event, not personal belief. With the city of Jerusalem as center stage, certain patterns begin to emerge involving the world's greatest empires, culminating at the year 1967 when Jerusalem came under full Israeli control and again 230 years into our future.
Despite its name, it is important to note that The Book of Masahel is not and does not claim to be inspired by God. However, in the spirit of other non-prophetic texts such as Chronicles 1 & 2, Ezra, and Nehemiah, it pairs the prophecies of Daniel and the Book of Revelation with historical events to create a narrative that is both startling and faith strengthening. By the end of the book, a coherent structure to the prophecies of the Bible becomes apparent, revealing an intelligence that transcends time.
