Flexstar Technology Introduces New Family of Low-cost Disk Drive Testers

Fremont, CA (PRWEB) September 19, 2007 -- Flexstar Technology, Inc. (Flexstar) the worldwide leading supplier of storage test systems, today announced the Flexstar Advantage family of disk drive testers. The new testers extend Flexstar's line of turnkey testing solutions meeting all testing requirements. Included with the new testers is the improved version of Flexstar test software and updated single board computer (SBC V) and network power margining board (NPM II), hardware that is the basis of Flexstar's industry leading burn-in racks.

As disk drives, optical drives and flash-based storage get integrated into many different applications and products, OEM manufacturers are realizing that it is not sufficient to just test the disk drive in the target system. It is not accurate or comprehensive enough to properly exercise and prove the disk drive. Manufacturers of these systems need to ensure that the drives meet their specifications and requirements and then be able to communicate effectively with the disk drive manufacturers to resolve issues quickly and maintain their end customer satisfaction.

All models support PATA, SAS and SATA2 interfaces. Other interfaces are available depending upon customer requirements. Each system features 3.5" disk drive fixtures with optional 2.5" and 1.8" drop-ins.

The Flexstar FAST family of burn-in racks deliver the accuracy, flexibility and repeatability that Flexstar is known for, enabling systems manufacturers to test with the confidence that the disk drive manufacturers will be able to correlate findings in a standardized test environment.

Orders are now being accepted for the Flexstar FAST family of burn-in racks; pricing starts at $85,000 depending on options with immediate availability.
