Art Knowledge News Magazine Given $250,000 Foundation Grant

(PRWEB) October 30, 2007 -- The Art Appreciation Foundation board announced that it has again awarded a 5-Star rating to the Art Knowledge News magazine: www.artknowledgenews.com as the most well read online art magazine that covers the 'World of the Arts' with daily updates, breaking news, photos, exhibitions worldwide, essays, and the best art images anywhere, art history, art related quotes, and links to many worthwhile resources.

In addition to the award the foundation granted a $250,000 grant to support this outstanding free art magazine. Art Knowledge News has been keeping its 503,126 free subscribers in touch with the 'World of Art' and is growing at the rate of 20,000 new subscribers every month. Lloyd S. Rubin, the Managing Editor said that, "The foundation donation will allow Art Knowledge news to be translated into several languages that will increase our readership in the Orient, Europe, Russia, and Latin America."

Art Knowledge News receives approximately 35-50 PR submissions, with images daily from every major museum, renowned auction houses, university galleries, the Library of Congress, and the world's best known public art galleries. The editor, Rubin said "?that the hardest part of our job is selecting prime newsworthy articles and images from the vast quantity of submissions received each day. To select the 'best of the best' for our worldwide readers, fortunately we have a vast array to choose from each day, so we can to be ultra selective."

Of great interest to subscribers to the magazine is that although the Home Page changes daily, every article and image ever published, remains available though the magazine's own search engine, and the content is fully indexed by every major search engine, and available via RSS to over 13,000 art blogs. The magazine receives dozens of emails and letters daily from art collectors, art researchers, educators, students, and art curators.

The magazine's most re-visited section is titled "of continuing interest," there the reader can find a diverse selection of Power Point exhibitions of renowned artists like masterpieces of Picasso, Renoir, Degas, Monet, Chagall, Michelangelo, Diego Rivera, Pissarro, Van Gogh and modern masters like Ricardo Celma, and Google's own Dennis Hwang. The Art Appreciation Foundation contributes $3.2 million dollars annually to art related non-profits, museums, art education, art programs for children with special needs, and buys art from emerging artists worldwide. The foundation also contributes its art for charity fundraising events.

At present, the foundation has a collection of over 3,700 original works of art bought directly from mid-career visual artists in 22 countries including Korea, China, Spain, Russia, Panama, the USA, and Cuba. The ultimate purpose of the foundation's art collection is to contribute its art to non-profit fundraising events, schools, museums and to donate art to a series of online virtual sales that will benefit various charities that the foundation supports.

Lloyd S. Rubin, editor of Art Knowledge News on behalf of its staff, photo editors, and writers, expressed surprise and delight to have received this unexpected honor and generous grant. "Hereinafter the magazine will be dedicated to the Art Appreciation Foundation as its major sponsor," said Rubin.
