Book Signing by Three Inspiring Finnish-Americans

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) June 25, 2008 -- Add one more exciting opportunity at this year's FinnFest: meet one-on-one with three of the most prominent members of the Finnish-American community, Osmo Vänskä, Beatrice Ojakangas and David Salmela.

Acclaimed conductor of the Minnesota Orchestra, Osmo Vänskä has undertaken the ambitious quest to record both the complete Beethoven symphonies and the complete works of Jean Sibelius (http://www.finnstyle.com/cds.html). His recordings earned him admiration from critics as well as a recent Grammy nomination.

For those who prefer the domestic side of life, renowned chef, Beatrice Ojakangas will be making an appearance. The Duluth native has published over 25 cookbooks, many of which focus on Finnish and Scandinavian recipes. Beatrice's The Finnish Cookbook (http://www.finnstyle.com/finnish-cookbook.html) has taught thousands of Americans how to cook Finnish.

And for the art aficionados, David Salmela will also be stopping by the FinnStyle booth to sign the book, Salmela: Architect (http://www.finnstyle.com/salmela-book.html). Minnesota-born Salmela has received numerous awards for his strikingly original designs which fuse modernism with the Finnish aesthetic.

Book signings by Beatrice Ojakangas on Friday 4-4:30 pm and Saturday 11:30-noon; and David Salmela on Thursday 1-1:30 pm and Saturday 10:30-11 am.
