ViaSat Opens New Tampa Office to Serve Growing Government and Defense Information Assurance Customers

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Business Wire EON) July 9, 2008 -- The new office will occupy 6,000 square feet at 5550 W. Idlewild Ave in the TIA Airport Area, the western anchor of the Florida High Tech Corridor. The other ViaSat office in the Southeast is located in Duluth, Georgia, and is home to the company's Commercial Satellite Networks group.

"We made a strategic decision to expand in the Southeast to help serve our growing base of government and military information security clients and partners," said Mark Dankberg, CEO and chairman of ViaSat. "Tampa is an ideal location for us because it is close to ViaSat customers and the region is a strong source of experienced engineers with Type 1 security clearances. We have been very successful in locating offices in areas that coincide with the opportunities we see in our markets. Our Tampa office follows that model, and will add another level of information security expertise for our customers."

The company is also developing "data at rest" security products and was selected last year by the National Security Agency (NSA) to manufacture its KG-200 and KG-201 In-Line Media Encryptors (IMEs) and to develop the next generation of high assurance storage media security products.
