Metropolitan State University Information

Metropolitan State University is one of the public universities located in two locations, one in Saint Paul and one in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. It is known for graduate and undergraduate courses of different faculties. The university was founded in 1971, for working students who want to pursue degree courses. Students from diverse backgrounds partake in the courses of this urban university.

As the university was known for its working class students, it is also known for its flexible time schedules. Because of practice oriented course, people enroll themselves for creating employment opportunities. Many community partnerships come under this university. Along with the basic faculties, the university comprises of professional communication, accounting, law enforcement, ethnic work, applied mathematics, etc. Among the degrees granted, the important ones are :-

The university claims to provide the students high quality and affordable education that gives them job-oriented results. To meet the higher education needs of the twin cities, the university is there serving the students. Per semester, more than 9500 students enroll their names in the university for various courses but only around 50% are its full time students and other 50% being of working group, attend colleges part time. This flexible time schedule is favorable for them. On weekends or in the evenings also, students can attend their respective lectures.

Along with the academic training in familiar learning environment, creative learning strategy workshop is there that many students take advantage of. It includes theory seminars, prior learning assessment, online courses, internships and independent studies. The traditional core university comprises of college of arts and science. Completing general studies requirements and liberal studies is the priority forthese undergraduate students. Along with the basic skills like writing, speaking, quantitative analysis and critical thinking, human nature, culture, history and science are also integral parts of the curriculum.

The management school is known for its qualitative, innovative and practice oriented courses. Professional study courses like education, psychology, human services and social work are also there in the university. Graduate and undergraduate programs for nursing and health sciences have helped people interested in this branch of healthcare system.
